May 1-9, 2008
Here are the Leo girls for May.
May 1 or May Day used to be a big holiday in the former USSR and other Communist countries. In the spring after the 1984 Winter Olympics in the former Yugoslavia I went to Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg) to visit Anna, my girl friend at the time. Yesterday I showed you photos of my rooms at the Astoria Hotel in Leningrad. Yes, it looked like no one lived there.
Today, we visit the apartment Anna shared with her brother, Mike. Also, we'll visit the apartment occupied by her other brother, Alex, and his wife, Elena. Alex and Elena won the gold medal for Pairs Figure Skating at the 1984 Winter Olympics.
In one of the photos you can see a framed photograph of Alex and Anna receiving the Olympic Gold. Those photos were taken by my daughter, Annie.
Today, in search of a cache (http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=a48f431d-3e59-4859-88ce-e335c846fce3), I came across a part of Fort Lauderdale that I have not previously visited.
No, I didn't find the cache.
PS: Maybe my blog will be a little spicier on Monday. This from our home owner's association:
I have just been notified by 20th Century Fox that they will be shooting a movie on Las Olas Boulevard on Monday, May 5th from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. You may experience some delays and lane changes, but the road will be open. If you experience any additional problems that warrant attention you can contact Sam.

Today Stephani, Watcharee and I took a two hour water taxi tour of Fort Lauderdale's waterways.
The Water Taxi tour continues ...
Out with the old; in with the new.
Watcharee eagerly awaits tonight's election results.
Watcharee made lunch for four of her Thai girl friends. From left to right: Yod, Kig, Tean, Jongrak and Watcharee.
Watcharee spent hours preparing the meal, though most of it was cooked by Thai Bayshore (A local Thai restaurant).
The ladies enjoyed it so much.
Return of the beach bunnies.
The bunnies return to Fort Lauderdale beach.
