Thaksin seeks power in Cambodia while THOCBDC just seeks a new cache deposit close to home. But, THOCBDC may not get it as it is too close to another cache. We'll see.
My friend, Kevin, found this. It is so true.
The Bangkok dailies are all hot and bothered about Thaksin's visit to Cambodia. And the political cartoonists are also having fun with their ink.
BTW, it seems that diplomatic correspondence between Thailand and Cambodia is in the English language. I wonder how common that is in other countries.
Yea for "lingua Franca".
Yum! But, will it make us sick?
This morning Mercedes Benz introduced to Bangkok its new line of E Class coupes and sedans. The display was in a huge tent in the parking lot of Central Chitlom department store. We went, we saw and we decided to think about it over lunch. And, a fine lunch it was; at Angelina (*) in the Central Chitlom department store.
When we got home it rained like hell. (**)
(*) Watcharee and I had mushroom soup as a starter and we followed up with salmon (Watcharee) and clams (me). Everything was delicious.
(**) Perhaps an omen that we should buy a BMW as our third BKK car? See the 3? And, the starting "B"? Maybe I am reading too much into things. You think?
Do you remember when Elephant Polo was a real sport that was never found in fiction? I mean who would ever want to build a romance around a bunch of elephants following a ball around a pitch?
Well, don't underestimate Thailand. Channel 3 here in Thailand has created some chapters in one of its soap operas about the 'sport'.
PS: We are drifting here. Sigh, a major schism in my life ... from MB to BMW. But, we have kept the B. But, it is still not final.
Heeeee'sssssss back! (*)
Yes, the round-headed, bald headed no-smiling SS head was seen in Shanghai at noon Bangkok time. Looking for counterfeit US dollars? I doubt it.
(*) First 'outed' by THOCBDC at Notre Dame where he was clothed in academic robes.
PS: I GOOGLED "Outing Secret Service" and nothing that surfaced suggested that this was a crime. Of course, when I return to the US in January maybe someone will correct me as I present my passport at Homeland Security (Immigration).
PPS: Sorry about the quality of today's photos but much is lost when the image goes from actual camera to Internet feed to CNN to my local TV to my tiny digital camera to my web site to your computer and finally to your eyes.
I never knew that my little Lumix digital camera had a 'night' mode. What a difference ... just compare these shots. And, the night mode shots were taken after the regular ones. OMG, what will things be like a decade from now ... Opps (Oops), I forgot ... we are supposed to end in 2012.
Today we drove to and returned from a very special place in order to book the delivery of something special.
Yesterday's visit to "Curries & More" was to arrange a 'catered' lunch at our place for Watcharee's grandmother, mother, sister, aunts and uncles (all on her mother's side of the family). The food was hot and delicious. Though I dipped into the dishes on the main table my plate was covered with an especially hot steamed snow fish dish.
Later that night I played with the 'night time' setting on my camera ... yes, more views of Bangkok as seen from our condo.
Ten days from now at precisely 11:09 in the morning we shall start a new six cylinder engine ... after, of course, offering things and prayers at an in-dealership traditional Thai 'Spirit House'. (*) But, this will be our first departure from two letter cars to a three letter vehicle (nicely both brands each share two letters of the alphabet (**)).
(*) Watcharee assures me that our previous Bangkok wheel purchases have been blessed with good performances and no lemon scars because of 'monkly' picked delivery times. Though I naively attributed this to Mercedes-Benz's quality control.
(**) MB and BM.
