January 9-16, 2010
January is usually a very dry month for Bangkok. Also, the temperature is usually comfortable. Today ... big rain. Also, 35 Celsius. Someone is fucking with the weather; goD or man?
It's Sunday; time for the funnies! Both deal with death.
One for laughter; one for tears.
PS: Being Sunday I also got a foot massage.
Another peek through the windows of two of our soon to be opened Athenee Residence restaurants: Ad Makers and Hyde & Seek.
BN Hospital in Bangkok has a nice display of antique invasive devices.
New Airport check-in procedure; it puts the fun back into flying.
MK Suki and the start of season 9 of American Idol ... can life get any better?
In less than a month we have to face this. Far worse than 'yesterday's' mass strip search.
Our neighbors are putting on some weight.
I love this letter to the editor of The Economist (January 9th 2010):
On Saturdays I am a creature of habit. I really look forward to a Spanish Omelet * at Sala Thai, a Thai restaurant located next to River City. It's location on the Chao Phrya River ensures a nice watery view. Also, it is just opposite The Millennium Hilton hotel.
