* In the Thai language it is called Radio Road, which when translated into English under the British system becomes Wireless Road. As in, "please turn on the wireless so we can catch the news".

My friend Dan from Taipei and Shanghai sent me these photos from his recent trip to Shanghai. I first met Dan in Shanghai more than 30 years ago. In the background of the first photo is a brick building. It is Shanghai Mansions. My first Shanghai hotel.
